The Randolph County School System is proud to announce that the 3rd Annual RCSS Masonry and Carpentry competition took place on Tuesday, May 6 at Eastern Randolph High School. Current students from the masonry and carpentry programs at Eastern Randolph, Southwestern Randolph, and Wheatmore High School came together to compete in a series of building tasks that were assigned by RCSS instructors and judged by industry partners. Awards were provided to the top students and teams in each category. At the conclusion of the awards ceremony, the masonry and carpentry instructors honor the late Wayne Miller, former Masonry Teacher at Providence Grove High School, by recognizing a particular student that best represents the construction field and many traits Wayne brought to the teaching profession. A special thank you to the instructors, industry partners, and competing students for making this competition a success and special event for all involved.
